From Scott Stangroom to Everyone 12:16 PM We purchase items not instances so link of POL to Item is important. Or am I not understanding the question.
From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone 12:18 PM I hate to make this suggestion, but might it be helpful to have a new field in the POL that has choices for 1) update POL bib data when linked Instance (if only 1) bib data is updated, 2) update POL bib data when linked Agreement line (if only 1) bib data is updated, or 3) do not update POL bib data automatically if linked title's bib data is updated.
From Virginia Martin to Everyone 12:21 PM I strongly dislike the idea of adding an additional field to POLs I definitely hear where you are coming from and agree that it is something that would be nice to have more control over than auto-update or not, but there are so many complex fields that we have to pay attention to in POLs already.
From Lisa G Smith to Everyone 12:25 PM If there's an 'accidental overlay' (a mistake) of an instance in inventory, it's nice to see what the order title, info was. This doesn't happen often, but happens regularly.
From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone 12:25 PM Good point, Lisa
From Julie Brannon (she/her) to Everyone 12:25 PM Could we consider controlling behavior globally in Orders > Settings rather than deciding on each order?
From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone 12:26 PM Maybe - if we have a setting, I'm nervous users would still want an option to override the default setting in an individual POL, similar to the Inventory Interaction default setting. If a title in a POL is updated, and there is an Open invoice or an Approved/Paid invoice linked to the POL, does that trigger any automatic changes in the Invoice line description? I'm hoping No.
From Lisa G Smith to Everyone 12:29 PM I was just thinking that A-M. What happens to the POL title in the invoice?
From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone 12:30 PM It seems like for paid/approved invoices, you wouldn't want the system to be able to mess with any of the Invoice line info. I'm not as strong-minded on open invoices
From Kimberly Wiljanen to Everyone 12:30 PM We do get title changes in between the order and receiving the book also. The invoice then reflects the title change.
From Lisa G Smith to Everyone 12:31 PM Julia wondered about making this a setting...
From Bill Verner to Everyone 12:32 PM No special permission would be needed, IMO
Dennis: Receiving records will show the same as the POL
From Scott Stangroom to Everyone 12:40 PM We'd need to be able to unlink (remove connection) a package title from a package order
From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone 12:41 PM And in this first iteration, the refresh only happens if you click the action, right? Any automatic refresh might be a future iteration?
Getting issue details...STATUS I think this is the ability to unlink titles from packages.
