2022 Community Council Elections

Community Council Election

We are conducting the election for the first FOLIO Community Council. We are seeking individuals who have experience with one or more of:

- Leadership experience with non-profit organizations
- Strong collaborative skills who are able to drive decisions that champion the interests of the community and project
- Participating in and/or managing open community governance
- Library management systems and library workflows
- Planning software development projects
- Agile software development methodologies, including Epic, Feature and Story creation
- Knowledge of recent library operations and future needs
- Experience with defining functional requirements and understanding of technical requirements

Nominations will be collected from May 9 through May 25, 2022 via the nomination form - Now Closed

Voting will be open from May 31 through June 17, 2021

Successful candidates will join the council on July 1, 2022

Ian Ibbotson	Knowledge Integration	I'm re-standing for involvement in CC after serving a 1 year term. Although my skill set is primarily technical I feel most of the challenges FOLIO faces are in the domain of the community council. Therefore, I'm putting myself up for re-election representing a mix of technical and community interests.
Rachel Besara	Missouri State University	AD of Libraries since 2017, overseeing Tech & Public Services Former Director of STEM Libraries at Florida State U. (4 years) MO State FOLIO Implementation Leadership Team (Live on FOLIO June 2020) Assessed functional and technical requirements for large ILS/LSP implementations and shared borrowing platforms Experience in UX assessment/as a SME in agile software development Numerous leadership roles in ALA/ACRL As an early implementer we want to help build a vibrant, sustainable FOLIO community
Tom Cramer	Stanford Libraries	As a current member of the FOLIO Community Council, I would like to serve again. I am the AUL & Director of IT at Stanford Libraries, the President of the Board of the Open Library Foundation, and I bring more than 17 years of open source and library community experience. In the last year, I have helped organize a grants strategy for FOLIO, contributed to refreshing our public communications, and directed the integration of FOLIO with Sinopia, a linked data cataloging tool, demonstrating the value of open platforms. Looking forward, with another term, I would like to rationalize FOLIO’s resourcing model and elevate the level of contribution (both financial and in kind) from members as we build the future of libraries together.
Paula Sullenger	Texas A&M	I have been actively involved in the FOLIO project and community since its inception in 2016. I represented Texas A&M University on the Product Council for five years and served as Chair for a term. I represent the FOLIO Community on the Open Library Foundation Board of Directors. Last year I was elected to the Community Council for a one-year term and I am eager to serve for an additional full term. I currently serve as FOLIO's first Treasurer, working with the OLF Treasurer to set up banking and other financial operations. Working with the FOLIO community has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career. I look forward to the opportunity to help put FOLIO on a sound financial footing as we continue to grow and improve.
Dracine Hodges	Duke University Libraries	As the head of Duke University Libraries' Technical Services, I am a vested stakeholder in FOLIO's success because it is mission critical to the work of my staff and our local community of patrons. I want to keep FOLIO's aspirational vision connected to the end-user experience. After many years of service in the FOLIO community, I continue to be motivated to ensure that we are able to reach a state of responsive iteration and project sustainability.
Kathleen (Kat) Berry	Five Colleges	I’m the Head of Information Resources Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a member of the Five College FOLIO Implementation Team. If reelected, I will continue to represent consortial perspectives as the Community Council makes progress on its objectives and initiatives. I’m excited to continue to cultivate a resilient and self supporting FOLIO community.
