Overview of user stories and open questions

Introduction and proposal see slide deck: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1UydhpiLAHCXJxcp1ZVjlo58WaVrygug1-UZLc3fpXKo/edit

Two major tasks: 1) Identify and access data needed 2) create reports and visualizations

Questions/comments to this presenatation:

Björn regarding title matching: we could consider ISSN-L (ISSN-Linking) Service which links media of the same serial publication (https://www.issn.org/understanding-the-issn/assignment-rules/the-issn-l-for-publications-on-multiple-media/); Kristen has already experience with this service; we want to look at this

Axel regarding tite matching: ISSN not that exact, do we also want to use DOIs? Kristen: yes, on the list, but not sure whether DOIs are available in KBs and reports

Kristen: over time problematic titles are resolved and matches are stored for reuse on further imports

Initial analysis (UX-PRODs) with questions:

We have an eUsage reports board on Jira containing all relevant tickets: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?projectKey=UXPROD&rapidView=190&view=planning

Kristen explained each of this UXPROD features.

A question from Björn to varify that the plan is to keep all necessary data duplicated to the existing data in a new module. Kristen confirms, that this is the current idea/approach.

Björn and Richard clarify regarding UXPROD-2859 that the data in the eUsage app already exists as structured JSON. CSV source files are converted to JSON and stored. For download in UI it is converted back to CSV/Excel.

No further questions or comments.

Next steps

Homework for next meeting:

Think about statistics we want to have. First examples can be taken from the presentation above:

  • Cost per download per agreement
  • Price developments over several years per agreement
  • Cumulative access per journal/title and time in an agreement
  • Comparison of the use of the current year vs. archive years

Read UXPRODs on JIRA board, are there further comments or questions?
