Agenda items

  1. Development progress -  ERM Sprint 137
  2. Searching in Agreements (Continuation of the discussion from last meeting):
    1. Please add your use cases for searches you need supported in Agreements in this homework document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-p5VtUGqUYuac3LtOWanBbPK-4IkPixtoeB6JkD41vs/edit#gid=0

Minutes

Development progress update:

  • Dev team has done bug fixes for things that very discovered during Lotus bugfest. The ERM apps have been bundled up and released for Lotus.
  • Ongoing work re. move of identifiers between titleInstances in the local KB, but paused due to absence of developer
  • Initial work for enhanced package metadata has started.
  • Continuing with implementation of additional custom propery types for Agreements and Licenses, e.g. date data type, and deprecated properties

Search use cases:

  • Package search in Agreements > E-resources
  • Some of the filters only apply to titles
  • Should we refine the search&filter pane and group the filters accordingly or split them into "packages" and "titles" like in eHoldings

  • Felix: quite difficult to using the search if you do not have experience with searching in Agreements and may interpret the filters in a different way and don’t get the expected results.
Adding a fourth tab to (Agreements / E-resources / Platforms) would be too large for the display, it does not resize well
you cannot mix the search if split up into "packages" and "titles"

  • Owen: a combined results list was an advantage as discussed long time ago
Better option for grouping filters package filters and title filters?
  • Felix: to group would be possible or is it possible to have a sub-tab two set of filters?
Under the “reset all” – two tabs for packages and for titles for organizing the filters and its display? depending how many filters we have - in orders there are to many filters, but it is powerful

  • Owen: approach with the “supplementary property filter builder” is powerful - could support a filter builder across lots of fields
  • Felix: feedback on filter builder: it is powerful – not all of the staff is using it because it is kind of hidden and they don’t know how to use it, until there is a training and in addition there are a lot of clicks

  • Owen: can improve the filter builder
  • Sara: What is disturbing across FOLIO: you cannot move the modal – it sits on top of information
Filter builder could be for deep searching needs and a few filters left could be in the search & filter pane for occasional searches
5C would like the acq units across all apps
  • Owen: like in eHoldings the tabs (providers / packages / titles) - separating out - can be disadvantage or advantage
  • Sara: split in eHoldings is useful

look-up the package and go through all the titles instead of look-up every title, but look up an eBook instead of package (too many titles)

  • Felix: not about search, but a questions/feedback on the icons next to each search result (e.g. green icon with 3 dots), this is static in every row – what is the reason for this icon? Could there be a different icon e.g. ebook, ejournal, title or package?

  • Owen: Searching across apps – having those icons in the results at Codex Search

  • Sara: don’t use the internal KB, but it makes sense to have two icons for package and title; other depending on your data

  • Owen: use case line 18 - agreement line level - Agreement line search is needed
If you are not using the internal KB you only have one tab for agreements in the search&filter pane and if we include another tab for Agreement line it would not be overwhelming
If you are using the internal KB we would have 5 tabs and it would be too many for display
  • Felix: Is it possible to have tabs on two rows?

    Agreement and Agreement lines
    E-resources / Platforms

  • Owen to work with Gill and developers on possible solutions

  • Sara: Navigation between PO and POL is not always user friendly - and AG and AGL depending what you are doing
  • Owen: navigation between AG and AGL improvable as well - will write it up
  • Owen: use case line 19 Which fields does the search box search in? How can we bring consistency? How does it works in other apps?
