Settings - Users - Patron Groups

Patron Groups are a required field on the user record. This section allows you to specify the patron group names your library wants to use.

This section will also show you how many user records are in those groups (both active and inactive records.)

Permissions

You must grant the following permission to allow a user to manage patron groups: 

  • Settings (Users): Can create, edit and remove patron groups

To see patrons in a group

  1. Open the list of patron groups in Settings
  2. Click on the number of patrons for that group in the column # of users.
  3. FOLIO will open the Users App with the patron group selected in the filter pane.

To create a patron group:

  1. Open the list of patron groups in Settings
  2. Click the New button on the top right.
  3. Type in the name of the new patron group. The name cannot already exist in the patron group list.
  4. Type in a description of the patron group (description is optional).
  5. Click Save to save the group.

To delete a patron group:

A patron group can only be deleted if there are no patrons in that group (# of users is 0.)

  1. Open the list of patron groups in Settings
  2. Click the Trash icon in the Actions column for the group you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete to confirm deletion.
