Product Council Update

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MpDJGX5wPzJZtqf4bSOge1D9clLLhKIqhIqqTDD87gA/edit

The "Vision and Strategy" group was envisioned by a small group. The intent is for this to be a short-lived group to design a vision and strategy that will be presented to Product Council. Members were chosen by the people who initially envisioned the group. There will be an opportunity for community feedback.

Subgroup & other updates/announcements?
  • QuickMARC - Most of the hotfixes for Goldenrod have been released. Ann-Marie is testing. A few more bugs were identified yesterday.
  • Finalizing requirements for Edifact invoice

Will elastic search be able to search across locally defined fields? - At the moment not sure.

Ann-Marie, via chat: "Those last 2 features splitting public/staff notes for holdings statements, and having a Source field are both features needed by Data Import and Data Export, so it's great to have them being worked on in Q3. Laura, you may want to add yourself as a watcher on UIIN-1123 - Getting issue details... STATUS . Lots of convo on that very topic in the comments of that Jira."

Tracking Statistics in InventoryLaura E Daniels

Starting point (good, bad, and ugly ideas – feel free to add to this slide deck)

will continue next week if needed

Comments:

  • "Date created separate from date updated is great!" (via chat)
  • "We do something similar and auto-generate stats from our current portal, so that monthly reports can be seen by managers." - (via chat) Referring to Slide 4.
  • Laura states that it is critical to them at Cornell, "who did what, when"
  • At Chicago they use item status and item update a lot for that information.
  • Challenge - the "update date" is often the date when someone has run a batch job such as headings updates. "Change tracker" app is mentioned.
  • Useful - having a status of "Cataloged" when a final addition change
  • Jesse Lambertson - Distinguish what type of cataloging was done by whom. They use a Python script
  • "We do something similar to keep track of record loading. I would want this to include tracking loading and overlaying, who did it and what load profile they used. It should also include record merging, items moving from one record to another. " - Lloyd
