Adding In-Line Notes to Wiki Page

Confluence supports in-line notes, much like other editors.  The following is a quick review of how to add comments.  For a more complete explanation of adding comments, as well as managing comments on a wiki page, please consult the Comment on pages help text.

Highlight text at the point you wish to make a comment.  A small balloon popup will appear above the selected text.

By clicking on the balloon, a text window will open, typically on the right hand side of the page.  If you have logged in to the wiki, your name will appear in the box to identify you as the contributor.  Confluence allows for anonymous comments, that is, comments from users who do not have wiki account.  Anonymous will appear as the user name.

Enter your comment in the input box and click Save to add your comment.  You can then close the input box by clicking on the "X" in the upper right hand corner.

When comments have been added to a wiki page, the text will be highlighted, as shown in the image to the right.  A quick scan of the page will show all the locations where comments have been included.

Clicking on highlighted text will reveal the comment and provide an input box for making a reply or adding additional information.

The three dots ( "..." ) allows for updating or editing a comment as well as deleting it altogether.
