15 minDiscuss strategy for including representation from the broader campus community

  • College/University typically have security/privacy officer/office; focus on security/privacy of data on campus. (Network security is typically another office.) Campus IDs, cash cards for dining halls and stores.
  • Offices tend to be consultative/advisory. Work with campus computing, networking, telecom. As advisory groups, they tend to love to have campus offices engage with them.
  • Michael: suggests identifying one or two of them to review our plans. Now is probably a good time to engage them in this discussion. They typically have checklists or other tools that can be used to evaluate systems.
  • Adam Chandler: willing to talk with the office at Cornell University. Chris Manley would be a good person to talk about.
  • Deb Lamb: Start a document with the legal frameworks that we are working on?
  • Peter Murray: Bring up the desire to engage with broader campus security/privacy offices at the product council to get input from others
