Notes

Today: View and offer feedback on the latest version of the FOLIO interface     Filip

Announcement:

Mark Canney:

Resource Access invited to present in September at Community Forum; webinar

Tentative: September 27; 11 am (eastern)

Demo of interface as it stands now (Filip)

Trying to create something that looks/feels like the final system will, but w/out real data

Shows all the prototype apps; in real system, would show only those you have access to

Q. Generic login?

A. Not sure we have made a decision

Suggestion: Small group to work with User Mgmt. to determine individual vs. generic login - can we make this an action item and suggest 2-3 people?

Filip:

Showed direct link to each app

Demonstrated language option

Showed walk-through (video) for each app

Commenting option: FOLIO project at discuss.folio.org

Showcase all the prototypes of apps

List of prototypes/demos is searchable

Also showed walkthrough of FOLIO set-up for new users

Q. Command line searching/filtering?

A. No prototype yet; found example in loan rules

Q. Fielded search within patron database?

A. Not yet, but coming up;

Q. Columns in interface; can the width be adjusted?

A. Yes; there is a logic in the way the panes behave: responsive & adaptive; panes: hide/show & change size

Q/comment: concern about screens looking different for different users in different circumstances makes training very difficult

A. I hear you;

A. Variation only comes with different screen sizes;

A. If you are on similar devices, screens will be roughly the same; logic & structure will remain the same without regard to screen type/size;

Thirty-three videos are available to view

Q. Smaller devices—ability to scan (a barcode) if device doesn’t support a scanner?

A. It would be possible to build a plug-in;

A. There are barcode scanners that will link to phones, etc. w/ Bluetooth

RE: App development by outside entities

A. This would be technically challenging because of the devices

Assignment: look at videos of prototypes

Videos: some are less than a minute; most just a few minutes; one is thirty minutes

You can comment in Discuss platform

You might look at User Management as well.

Monday: Cate will be doing a demo as well.

Andrea will reach out to User Management to set up meeting to discuss individual vs. generic login.
