How do different discovery systems work with this?

Meeting Notes

Service Points

  • Issue: some libraries have service points that are only there for internal processes (these should not be displayed at the
  • EDS: easy to manage via Edge API
  • vufind: if it is defined as a pick up location it shows up in vufind (yes/no logic)
  • Chicago uses grouper and shibboleth to only display some pick-up locations to certain authenticated users (lock-down related)
  • Blacklight: (Andy) - overloading the discovery name to also provide a second layer of displayed
  • No or only a manual solution for: internal pick up locations (staff only)
    • Pick-up-location limited by patron group
  • Thomas: Instead of just making a staff or patron location what about if you just were able to tag service points
    • tags are not customable enuogh
