 Announcements/Updates

  1. The World Open Library Foundation Conference will be held in Durham, North Carolina, in May/June (waiting for update on Dates). What options do we want for the SIG or SIG subgroups to meet in person?
  2. Status of workshop on e-resources in inventory?

The meeting is now likely to be pushed into June as there was a conflict with the May dates.

Chance for working meetings, cross-pollination. Address some questions how the eholdings, inventory, ERM, acquisitions, etc. apps (subgroups) will integrate and interact; identify overlaps and gaps (maybe a half day dedicated to this?). Eholdings subgroup has been working on a wish list of how it will work with other apps. Topic of migration. There needs to be some framework but also needs to be flexible. Would help to have a facilitator. Work through workflows (like the Boston meeting). Come up with a list of the things we want to address.

Acquisitions app - finance functionality UI is in process; should be coded work that will be viewable by the time the meeting is held. Orders will be next.

Two half-day slots for RM-related activities. Can update as we continue to think about what needs to be covered.

No update on upcoming workshop. Send ideas to Kristin.

30Tags in Resource Management and across FOLIO

Discussion in Madrid led to decision to create a tag app. Ann-Marie will be the PO. Home will be RM SIG but other apps can use it - will span all apps.

Tags will be used to organize data and will help with filtering and reporting.  Can be both structured or open depending on need. Will be flexible and allow for future innovation. Tags should not drive functionality. Individual organization will impose structure.

V1 - one set of tags for all apps; filter by tags; auto-suggest; add/remove tags; used in reporting

post-v1 - more robust management of tags

Timing: Subgroup by March 2; requirements by March 30; RM SIG review by April 13

Get in touch with Kristin or Ann-Marie if you're interested in joining the sub-group.

FOLIO Location Model

See Discuss Post

Will be able to create a "collection" - post-v1 - and associate them with resources.

FOLIO will have both permanent and temporary locations that can be assigned at the holdings level. Locations from the holding are automatically inherited by any items associated witht he holding but this can be overridden at the item-level.

Can use location codes - will auto-suggest/complete - but will also be able to lookup code/name if not known.
