Project updates

The Reporting SIG is using small working groups to address priorities and complete our work.  Each week, we will provide updates to the Reporting SIG from these various reporting-related groups and efforts.

  • Community & Coordination:
    • status of JIRA tickets, review of process (Angela will share update in March 2 meeting)
    • GDPR compliance issues in process, too soon to say what the strategy will be, but plan is for compliance by mvp
    • discussed strategy for getting ERM into the LDP (focus on high-priority reports)
    • notetaking strategy - have team and topic leaders guide notetaking to ensure accuracy
  • RA/UM Working Group: Everyone has made progress with the prototypes and queries listed in last week's notes. Next week, we hope to have a few completed prototypes and queries.

  • MM Working Group:
    • Five prototypes currently underway.
    • 3-4 of the current JIRA tickets could use further refinement
    • 2-3 of the current JIRA tickets may warrant being broken out into 2 or more tickets, based on a variety of approaches that might be taken to pull the desired data.
    • Will touch base with Laura Wright (MM SIG) to get updates on status of current prototypes and to discuss ticket refinement.

  • RM/ERM Working Group:
    • Linda and Nancy working on prototype (3/17) and query (3/24) for REP-61 as a model for the UXPROD-2254 RM-Count Cluster
      • Met with Laura Wright from the MM group to have a better understanding of the Inventory Storage data

Discussed E-books and E-journals and how to report on them in Folio

      • Working on dividing the cluster into sub-categories

      • Prototype in progress and making good progress.

    • Scott and Sharon working on prototype (3/10) and query (3/24) for Invoice Expenditures as costs model for the UXPROD-2255 RM-Costs Cluster
    • Owen, Matt, Axel, and Martina to work on ERM prototypes and queries
    • Sarah Park to join this subgroup after she finishes up work on her RA project

  • Note on Inventory documentation: Angela has set up FOLIO Data Model Documentation to capture useful resources for learning about the data model in different apps. Inventory has some information there.

JIRA Ticket Prototype and Query Workflow ReviewAngela

Angela will walk us through the process of completing report Prototype and Query tickets in the new workflows for these processes.

  • New JIRA project and issue types allow us to track prototypes and queries with more granularity
  • Updated instructions at Report Prototypes
  • Main changes involve movement from development into testing (more formal stages)
  • For query developers, there's a new suggested process for GitHub, will hopefully be easier and more clear to others looking at our queries
New Slack Channels for Working Groups

We have created Slack channels for the new Working Groups, in case they wish to use them for their own intra-WG discussion:

  • #reporting-mm-wg
  • #reporting-ra-um-wg
  • #reporting-rm-erm-wg

Time to Rank your Reporting Clusters

All

Reminder: The MVP project managers are interested in getting all the MVP tickets ranked by each institution. If your institution has still not ranked the reporting clusters, please urge them to do so soon. We need this for both MVP and prioritization for what reports to build next within the Reporting SIG. Thank you!

  • In Jira reports are REP, then they become grouped as Clusters, then UXPROD (rank these)
  • You can find all the report clusters in JIRA by searching on the report-cluster label
  • If you're not comfortable in JIRA, feel free to ask Sharon for a report cluster list
