Feedback from Installathon | Discussion: Brandon reported that is was "not as great as hoped." From this group, Chris C, Dale, Craig Boman, Jason Root were among the attendees. Dale said he got a lot out of it. Chris Cresswell said he was able to figure things out later in the week.. Good documentation is needed for a production instance. Need to address non-vagrant and networked environment. Dale Arntson said he would do a Github pull request to update the version of Docker to 17.06
Wishlist from Deployment & Orchestration Session |
Discussion: Mike Gorrell said that Wayne Schneider and Hongwei Ji would build out a performance environment and share the knowledge back with the community. They will orchestrate with AWS tools like Kubernetes. This environment will be automated and refreshed periodically. Documentation will be provided. They will model non-AWS use of deployment tools as well. Maybe Docker Swarm. - FOLIO-1245Getting issue details... STATUS Brandon said product owner v. important. We need release management, shouldn't be pushing code to master unless tested. Tod Olson shared his request for Product Owner: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JTOPMca4qv1qDAzNYa62trKqemKQU2TpzkxhiJ8ktqI/edit. He will forward to Sharon Wiles-Young on behalf of the SIG.
Data Migration Process Flow Notes 5/8/18 | Discussion: What about the storage modules, we wondered. Storage modules will need to accommodate bulk operations. Discussion about initial bilk loaders for migration vs. ongoing. Export is not on anyone's list at this time; group thought it is much less challenging and can be addressed once the importers are completed.
Early Implementers Notes 5/9/18 | Discussion: The need for a Sys Ops PO to help describe and prioritize early implementers' needs was reiterated. Tod Olson described the Technical Council that is to be formed to help with this task, including arbitrating technology "disputes." A mailing list has been created for early implementers, as well as a slack channel. |
